My BCBS claim is rejecting stating that date of accident is required? Why and how do I submit this information?
A new edit regarding Accident/Injury claims has been implemented by many BCBS (blue Cross Blue Shield) carriers.
Any claims submitted with an accident diagnosis code (800-999.9) or an External cause of Injury (E code) must include the type of accident and the date the accident/injury occurred.
To correctly report this information on your claim, enter your claim normally. and then click the OTHER INFO to record your accident information.
If your claim was submitted without this information and rejected, you can claim correct the claim and add this info to the OTHER INFO, but you MUST then click on Update Information and select Update Other Info. If you do not do the update info, your claim will NOT change.
