How can I prove timely filing? (KB)

November 20th, 2017

In order to prove timely filing you would need a validation report to show the carrier that the claim was sent.

The first step is to look at the claim history and see when the claim was originally sent out, once you have that date write it down.

Then If you are looking for a claim from the clearinghouse then you want to go to Zip claim and click on Reports reprinting and go to the date the claim was sent and then look for dates after the claim was sent because the report for that claim were probably received after the date of submission.  For Zip claim reports you would be looking for a .04 extension for the timely filing reports.

If you are looking for a claim from a direct transmission then you would go to trans and claims and select the appropriate tab then click on reports reprinting and go to the date that you sent the claim from the claim history and look for 277 reports.
